Darwin's Missing Link Announced!
This week the scientific community has stated to unveil the missing link of Darwinism. They counted down to it's opening curtain, revealing the said to be 47 million year old fossil named Ida (Darwinius masillae).
But before we get too exited, remember the missing link was also claimed to be found in 2006 with Fishapod (Tiktaalik roseae) as well as the Coelacanth, that was found to be alive and swimming.
There is a war out there, each side is trying to bury the other. Recent developments like the Louisiana academic freedom bill that can allow alternative teachings to Darwinism fuels the controversy further.
Although I am not an extremist on either side, meaning although not an Atheist, I do not believe that God keeps snow kept in it's store house or opens floodgates allowing the water that is stored on top of the Earth to fall giving us rain.
I think the best way to solve the controversy is to accept the theistic evolution interpretation of Genesis 1 where it states, "And God said, Let the Earth bring forth the living creatures" and "Let the waters bring forth abundantly". This allows the teaching that God let the Earth and waters do it's thing and create life, which would not contradict Darwinism or religion.
The creation of man can be interpreted as a special event, God using a pre-existing template from an animal and creating something new. This is also known as progressive creation.
Some churches have had debated introducing theistic evolution. One thing for sure is, if Darwinism is proven to be true, the churches will be forced into theistic evolution. Remember it was only in 1992 that the Roman Catholic Church admitted Galileo was correct. Despite the announcement of Ida, the mega churches are not closing down this week.

Interesting thoughts here.
@sle21408 - Thanks for the read!
Nice post!
Somethings going to give!
@Danny__Partridge - You are welcome!
Being in an atheist I have weird views on evolution vs creation. To me I never really known how religious folks could not fathom that if God does exist that Evolution could be a creation of God's.
I don't think evolution necessarily debunks creation. I've had it explained to where one fits into the other... I'd have to think about theistic evolution.

Thanks... I wonder what other peoples views are .... all seem to be quiet on the matter! Should both views be taught?
I'm a Christian and I know this may not be popular with other Christians but.... here goes.... I would like to see public schools teach maybe the two most popular scientific theories of the time. Public schools simply do not have the needed funding to teach every theory of creation. With our continuous process of learning about Gods wonderful creation the beliefs of scientists change faster than they can bind the textbooks each new discovery leading them to further search and evaluate their theories, and I think it's good for children to at least be aware of popular scientific theories. Even as a home educated student for part of my school experience I was exposed to different scientific theories. I was encouraged to question everything. I hope to raise my children to have the same sense of wonder and desire to learn that I grew up with.

Agree, the second to Darwin is Design, you can attribute that to any God or religion.
I think some things may have slowly evolved over time, but not as drastically as they claim. I believe Darwin may have gone just a tad overboard on his theories. I definitely don't believe that my ancestors were apes or that we all started out as underwater creatures that evolved to land dwellers. I don't believe the differences are quite that drastic. Guess we'll all find out sooner or later though.
Idon't have nothing to say that, I have only one thing to say is great post and very interesting thoughts..
Is really isn't a missing link according to AIG
Evolutionists are debating it as well.

Just stopping by since I haven't heard from you in a while. What have you been up to?
@echois23 - I kind of went through something... I'm back now, thanks for asking.
@Danny__Partridge - No problem, I try to check on the MIA once in a while.
@Danny__Partridge - I hope things are smoothing out for you.
Thanks!
@Paul_Partisan - Paul,
There are Christians that believe in evolution, it is called theistic evolution.
The reason why mainstream Christians don't embrace theistic evolution is they take the scripture where it says God created man in his image....can not mean it evolved from a monkey.
Recently, theistic evolution see that scripture as seeing God creating man in his image but using an existing template (that is) monkey. This harmonizes creation and evolution. The official term for this position is progressive creationism, that is what I am.
